Pipelines of Refineries of A leading Taiwanese Oil Company Project: Pipelines of Refineries Location: Taipei, Taiwan Applicator: In-House Contractor Date of Application: August 2001 The Challenge: A leading Taiwanese Oil Company owns and operates three refineries in Taiwan namely, Kaoshsiung refinery (KOR), Taoyuan Refinery (TOR) and Talin Refinery. A long stretch of oil and gas pipelines needed maintenance specially those areas that exhibit crevice corrosion. They need a product that will that will permanently protect the pipelines from further deterioration and can be applied at any weather condition. The different divisions who will carry out the repair works have to finish it before the end of year 2001. Requirement: A test was conducted for different pipeline rehabilitation system to determine which product is best suited for their requirement. Corro-Wrap in conjunction with Corro-Fix 911/ Corro-Dur 561 was applied and passed the test conducted by CPC engineer. The product is very easy to use and can be applied even at the bends. Normally it can be applied in a few minutes and put it into service after a few hours. Solution: The contractors and CPC engineers who witnessed the demonstration / testing of the product is very impressed and initial repair works of pipelines showed that production rate is quite fast compared to the other product that was used previously. The client realizes a big savings on their repair works since less manpower is required, faster production rate, less downtime and the price of product is reasonable.
