TEFLON™ ENHANCED EPOXY COATING

Low Friction Coating
Packaging Systems
Contamination Release
Ice Release
Low Solvent
Facilitates Cleaning Operations
Seals against water, oils, greases.
Easy 2:1 Mixing ratio
Excellent Chemical Resistance

DESCRIPTION

CORRO-DUR 252 is based on the tough and chemical resistant resin system used CORRO-DUR 251. Additions of low surface energy reactive silicones and fluoropolymer create an ultra smooth slippery surface which has a low coefficient of friction and the ability to shrug off many contaminants.

The cured film is hard, glossy, very tough and very slick. Application is easily made by brush, roller or heated plural component sprayer. Overcoating intervals are unlimited for ease of scheduling and maintenance.

SURFACE

PREPARATION

Remove surface contamination by high pressure water jetting or similar methods with or without abrasive injection. Hand held power tools such as grinders or needle guns will give good results if applied conscientiously in small areas but will be inadequate in large areas. Conventional abrasive blasting using air/abrasive or centrifugal blasters are preferred methods of surface preparation in most cases where oily or greasy contamination is a problem.

APPLICATION

Thoroughly mix CORRO-DUR 252 epoxy base with the CORRO-DUR 252 curing agent at a ratio of 2/1 by volume. Be sure to incorporate the components thoroughly especially along the edges and bottom of the mixing container otherwise there may be places where the curing agent of epoxy base are unmixed and will create spots that will never cure. Roll or brush the epoxy on the prepared surface and allow to cure. Potlife approximately 35 minutes at 77°F(27°C), small amounts of solvent may be added if the mixture begins thicken noticeably towards the end of its working life.

The cured surface may be cleaned in the normal maintenance process.

TEMPERATURE

Temperature exerts a considerable influence on the rate of hardening of chemically cured materials such as CORRO-DUR 252. In broad terms expect each 10°C, (18°F), rise or fall temperature to half or double dry times and pot lives.
