DESCRIPTION

CORRO-FIX 911
is a highly modified "5-minute" type repair compound reinforced with *Kevlar™ micro fibers and formulated for strength and versatility under adverse field conditions. CORRO-FIX 911 is so tolerant of wet conditions that it may even be used underwater or to repair wet, leaking pipes.

CORRO-FIX 911 is solvent-free, odor free, no toxins and contains no carcinogens.

As a General Use Adhesive CORRO-FIX 911 adheres strongly to metal, wood, concrete, fibreglass, vinyl, steel, copper, PVC, gelcoat, galvanizing and most other engineering materials.

*trademark E.I DuPont de Nemours Co.

SURFACE PREPARATION

Remove all loose surface contamination around the immediate repair site. Abrade the area using abrasive paper, stiff wire brush, etc. Wash or wipe off all loose particles so that the surface area is clean and cleared to provide good adhesion.

Note: Prepare surface before mixing epoxy components as the epoxy cures very quick.

MIXING PROCEDURE

Mix one part CORRO-FIX 911 curing agent with one part CORRO-DUR 911 epoxy base on flat disposable surface such as cardboard or plastic. Thoroughly mix the two components until the mixture is a uniform color.

APPLICATION

Using
a spatula or other straight edged tool, quickly 'butter' the mixed epoxy on the entire repair site and allow the epoxy to dry to touch ( approximately 3 minutes). CORRO-FIX 911 is extremely useful when used with fibreglass tape or other fibrous reinforcement to plug leaks. When used it impregnate fibreglass use just sufficient to saturate the fibres then make at least three tight wraps around leaking pipes or joints pulling down hard. Excess epoxy will be squeezed through the fibres and may be smoothed over the surface after the tape is applied. Large leaks may be sealed by saturating fibrous material such as oakum with CORRO-FIX 911 and ramming it into voids. CORRO-FIX 911 is completely tolerant of water and will adhere to wet but otherwise clean surfaces.

TEMPERATURE

CORRO-FIX 911 may be applied in temperatures as low as 45°(7°C)-curing will be slow, however the viscosity of the material will still be workable.

Temperature will exert considerable influence on the rate of curing of chemically cured epoxies such as CORRO-FIX 911. In broad terms expect each 10°C,(18°F), rise or fall in temperature to half or double dry times and pot lives.
